CPR is certainly lifesaving. This was proved by another incident that took place in Cresson, Pennsylvania where a store employee saved a customer's life by performing CPR. It was a routine working day at Sheetz Store on January 31st, 2015, when while shopping, a man suddenly fell down and stopped breathing. Ashley Nickol, an employee at Sheetz Store for 8 years, performed chest compressions until the arrival of the ambulance and saved the customer's life. 31 year old Nickol who is a certified CPR nursing student told Friday's Altoona Mirror, "My instincts took over after the man collapsed and stopped breathing." According to Nickol, she performed CPR for the very first time in a real life emergency situation. The paramedics told Friday's Altoona Mirror that the man had gone into a cardiac arrest and was saved by the employee working at Sheetz Store who performed uninterrupted chest compressions until the arrival of the help from the paramedics staff. On 12th February, 2015 Nickol was honored with an award and balloons by the Cambria Alliance EMS paramedics for saving a precious life. In accordance to the paramedics staff, Nickol's timely and uninterrupted chest compressions helped in saving the victim. The man was then hospitalized for further medical treatments and was later released. Nickol will complete her nursing school in May 2015.
